A Sustainable Package for a Healthy Treat
The aim for this project was to redesign the packaging for Fruitables baked treats in a more sustainable and functional design. Targeted at dog owners, friends, and enthusiasts, the new packaging uses cardboard and plant-based bio plastic, making it 100% recyclable. You can even reuse/repurpose the packaging for other dog treats at home.

Sketching from Start to Finish
While redesigning the packaging for the Fruitables baked treats, the colour palette, font, and logo stayed the same. The main goal was for a new package, which involved a lot of research and sketches to create the best design that fits all the needs. Alternating between improving the design and consulting with the client, we landed on the desired product. Throughout the designing process, changes were made to the opening of the package.Originally, the opening would either flap open from the top, like a gum container, or it would screw open. This changed to a simple slip-on lid, which was the most effective solution for the desired materials.

Eco-Friendly Functionality
The final design delivers a simple, eye-catching, straight-forward package. It is easily stackable for storage purposes and is very easy to use. The client was very happy with the result, mentioning the improved functionality of this packing compared to the previous. Originally, only the purple package was redesigned, but I recently had the opportunity to expand on this project and create two other sizes. This also gave me a chance to rework the die lines to avoid seeing any white paper on the inside pattern.
